Year 4 - Jaguar Class

Our Year 4 Class is named after Brazil's  national animal, the Jaguar.

Jaguar Class is led by Mrs Morland and supported by Mrs Kercher.
Check back here every couple of weeks for updates about the class and their learning.

September 22nd 2023

It’s been a wonderful start to being Year 4 for our new jaguars!   We like roaring…..and have drawn some fabulous jaguars as well as found out some wonderful facts.

This term, we are writing to the famous author and film maker, Shan Tan.  Putting more descriptive detail and dialogue into his book and film, ‘The Lost Thing’ is our purpose to write.  In reading we are developing our inference skills asking: why does the character think/say/feel this?

Our Science lesson will develop our understanding of electricity and circuits.  In history we have started to use sources of evidence to find out how children’s lives have changed during the past to the present.

Our P.E. kits are needed in school every day ready for P.E. on Monday (gymnastics) and Thursday (football).  Please see the uniform page for the correct kit.

Throughout the year,  we will be learning about rainforests, the water cycle and rivers in science and geography – with exciting trips planned for late Autumn and Winter (see dates page). It is going to be a great year which we are sharing with Jelly the Jaguar, our cuddly class mascot.  So don’t forget to sign up to have Jelly visit your home for a weekend soon.
