Our House Captains

Our houses are named after four inspirational people who demonstrated courage, challenged barriers and made a lasting difference:

  • Parks – Rosa Parks

  • Tull – Walter Tull

  • Turing – Alan Turing

  • Jemison – Mae Jemison

Through our house system, pupils learn about these important figures and consider how they can show courage, overcome challenges and make a positive contribution to their community.

Each house has two House Captains, one from Year 5 and one from Year 6. They work together to support pupils and lead house activities throughout the year. Their responsibilities include:

  • Counting and recording house points each week.

  • Encouraging pupils to participate and support their house.

  • Helping to organise house games, competitions and Sports Day.

  • Promoting teamwork, fairness and respectful behaviour.

  • Acting as positive role models throughout the school.

The role supports pupils’ understanding of British Values, particularly mutual respect, individual liberty and the rule of law. It also brings our school values of Community, Aspiration and Courage to life. House Captains strengthen our community, encourage others to aim high and show the courage to lead by example.
