Welcome to St Martin's School Nursery, a brand-new and bespoke provision for children aged between 2 and 5. Our setting is beautifully situated overlooking Salisbury Cathedral and is able to take advantage of the opportunities both in Salisbury City Centre and the local countryside.

Our Early Years provision is the heart of a rapidly improving school. We provide a warm, nurturing setting where children are encouraged to explore, grow, and thrive, and where families are truly valued as part of our journey. Our Early Years parents agree, stating that the staff's "warmth, patience, and genuine care have made such a difference to our child’s early school experience" and that they have "seen first-hand how their dedication is helping to build strong, happy foundations for learning."

St Martin's School Nursery will be opening in September 2025 and we are already seeing huge interest from the local community. lf you’re interested in learning more or joining our nursery family, please register your interest today using this form: https://forms.office.com/e/3mERpV6Eus

You can also call the school office on 01722 554300 to speak to a member of the Senior Leadership Team if you have any further questions.

"The EYFS team have been a real bright spot in the school’s journey of improvement. Their warmth, patience, and genuine care have made such a difference to our child’s early school experience. It’s clear they’re passionate about what they do, and we’ve seen first-hand how their dedication is helping to build strong, happy foundations for learning."

"My child started Reception in September 2024 just after she had turned 4 in June 2024. She really enjoys learning at St Martin's. As an English Teacher I am impressed by the fact that she can now read and also in her drawings at home she will write out and sound out letters at home, all by herself. Asked what the best thing about school was she said "dressing up in a donkey costume"! As a parent and teacher I like the idea of creativity and fun being incorporated into the lessons. I am pleased to say Roo always looks forward to school."

Diary Dates

The school and Trust team overseeing the establishment of a new nursery are working according to a strict timetable. Milestones have been set for building works, curriculum development, recruitment and, most importantly, the successful transition and induction of our children.

Keep checking back on this site for updates on all of the above, especially those first tours and open events. We also encourage prospective parents to follow our journey on facebook.

Inclusion

At St. Martin’s, we are committed to inclusion and ensuring equality of opportunity for every child. We believe that every pupil, regardless of need or background, should be given the support and encouragement to thrive. Our experienced school SENDCo plays a key role in our nursery, leading the early identification and support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. With many years of experience working across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2, she brings a deep understanding of how to nurture and develop young learners. By working closely with families and staff, we ensure that individual needs are recognised early and that tailored support is put in place to help every child achieve their full potential.

Partnership with Parents

At St. Martin’s, we recognise that parents are a child’s first and most enduring educators. We are committed to working in genuine partnership with families to ensure the very best outcomes for every child. Daily communication is a key part of this partnership: we provide regular updates through face-to-face conversations at drop-off and pick-up, as well as using our preferred online portal, Tapestry, to share photos, observations, and milestones from your child’s day. Parents are encouraged to contribute their own observations and comments, helping to build a rich, two-way understanding of each child's development and interests.

We are proud to have an open-door policy and warmly welcome parents into our nursery setting. Whether you have a quick question, need a longer conversation, or simply want to share something about your child, we are always happy to listen. We also offer regular opportunities for more formal meetings, stay-and-play sessions, and workshops, helping parents to feel fully involved in their child's early education. Together, we create a strong and supportive community around each child, laying foundations for a happy and successful start to school life.
